Looking Back on Our Jubilee Year

The 50th Anniversary celebration of the dedication of our church has come to its end!

Jubilee LogoBegun August 14th, 2014, our Jubilee has been a year-long celebration full of events that have brought our parish family together in thanksgiving for the many ways our parish has impacted the life of many during the past 50 years. It has given us a chance to introduce new programs that will be carried on in the future for the benefit of our parishioners, the town of Emerson, and the surrounding area.

The official closing of the Jubilee was Sunday, August 16th with a Solemn Mass at 12:15 PM presided by Archbishop Hebda. Fr. Villanova, Fr. Gene, and Fr. Dominick, former pastors of Assumption, were also present.

The Mass was followed by a Luncheon in our school cafeteria.

On Saturday, August 15th, at 7:30 PM, we enjoyed our last Jubilee Concert in church, featuring tenor Jeremy Watson, accompanied by pianist Karen Barth. The recital included arias from famous operas, some modern music, and sacred songs and spirituals with a special tribute to Mary.

A big Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to all who have made these and all other Jubilee events possible by their involvement as volunteers or simply by being present.
